Transcreation
from English into German

Businesses that put human connection first invest in localizing their marketing content.
Why? To inspire and connect with their audience and turn them into loyal customers and long-term brand advocates.
This is where marketing translation aka transcreation (translation +copywriting) comes in.
It’s about transporting your brand’s essence to a new target market in the local language. It’s about translating feelings, not just words.
I provide custom transcreations into German.
To bring your content to life in German-speaking markets, I work from your brief, taking inspiration from your English content.

Let's work together in 4 simple steps
1. Get in touch
Email me the content you’d like me to work on as an MS Word, PowerPoint, or Excel file along with your brief. If this is our first time working together, I invite you to book an intro call so we can get to know each other.
2. Let’s sign off on the details

3. Lean back and relax
Lean back while I work on your content. That includes editing and reading my transcreation out loud to make sure it flows and ‘snaps’. If I have any questions along the way, I’ll contact you via email.

Success story
Here’s how I contributed to a 30% sales increase for e-commerce retailer Hudson Reed:

Issue
Hudson Reed was experiencing a dip in sales: some products within their heating range weren’t performing well in Germany. That meant re‑translating old German product descriptions that hadn’t been updated in years. A simple touch-up wouldn’t have sufficed because we also needed to consider the brand’s new tone of voice.
Process
The challenge was managing high volumes of content in a short amount of time. I re‑wrote the product descriptions and worked with an internal proofreader to make sure the result was of high quality and accurate from a product point of view. We met the tight deadlines and made sure the content was consistent throughout.
Outcome
Following several weeks of challenging work to re‑create these product descriptions, the merchandising department reported a 30% increase in sales for this particular product group. The new tone of voice and style also matched the rest of the website better once the re‑translation project was complete.
Feedback
“Belinda reviewed and improved existing listings that have resulted in a 30% sales increase for this product group. Key to us is her ability to understand technical products quickly with minimal instruction and produce high-quality content with a local flavour rather than a purely literal translation from English. She hit all deadlines, and her friendly and helpful nature blended seamlessly with the existing team.”

Where can I find out more about transcreation?
I’ve contributed to some transcreation-related publications, which you can find here:
- Founded in Transcreation podcast: Why Brands Need Creative Translation Solutions
- My blog: 5 Transcreation Examples to Make You Smile or Cringe
Another great resource is this article written by my colleague NinaSattler-Hovdar.
Why should I hire a human translator to handle my marketing content?
Think of it like this:
Would you buy from a business you don’t understand or – even worse – doesn’t understand you?
According to CSA Research findings, 76% of online shoppers prefer to buy products with information in their native language – and another 40% will never buy from websites in other languages.
By investing in skilful translation and transcreation that hits the nail on the head both linguistically and culturally, you’re a massive step closer to connecting with your German-speaking audience!
Taking the time to make your marketing materials come to life in German shows your (future) customers that you care about their pain points, their wants and needs. And in return, they’re far more likely to trust your brand and keep coming back.
How much does transcreation cost?
I price all my transcreation work by project, which allows me to take your specific needs into account. You can find ballpark figures above to guide you in your decision-making process.
Do you have a project that’s ready to go? Email me the original content along with your brief, and I’ll send you a quote with no strings attached: hello@belinda-grace.com
How long does a transcreation project take?
It depends on the size, volume and complexity of your project.
A blog translation of around 1,000 words will usually take me three business days –one day to translate/transcreate, another to let it sit, and one more to edit it before sending it back to you.
A full landing page transcreation requires more work, including a strategy call, brand and product research, keyword input as needed, and an in-depth testing and quality assurance process.
No matter your situation, you can always ask me for a time estimate for your project by emailing me at hello@belinda-grace.com
